Our mission is multifaceted. We are determined to support the safety of bicyclists and pedestrians on the roadways and to promote the education of the public on safety procedures. We are dedicated to raising funds to construct bike lanes, promote helmet use, support local rescue squads, promote organ donation, provide scholarships for outstanding student athletes, support local humane societies and other charitable donations as deemed necessary by the community and our supporters.
**** Website Update **** We have recently re-launched our DDH Gear Store. The new cycling jerseys are available, as well as magnets, mugs, shirts, pens, and more.. check it out here
Also, put your lost loved ones on our new memory wall. This wall is dedicated to those who have passed away from cycling accidents. View our wall here or add your loved one here.
October 14th , 2008:
**** Update **** Thank you to everyone that came out to support the foundation. With your help we had a very large turnout of about 100 people. This was a great way to start winding down a great 2008 for the foundation.
If you did not make it to this event and would still like to help please make a donation above. Again we thank everyone for your support.
Applebees in Hackettstown, will be hosting Dining to Donate. Please come out and join us. A % of your meals cost will be donated to the David D. Hammar Foundation. This fund raising event will help get us ready for next years events, in which we are aiming to have a larger Bicycle Safety Day, in May 2009.
Please look for our flyer in the upcoming Black River Newspaper, which you can cut out anc bring in or you can Download, Print and Bringthis flyer with you to Applebees.
In order for your meal to count you must bring the flyer in to Applebees, and give it to your waiter or waitress. (Download Flyer Here)
